  • Crisis Telephone Hotlines
    Do you need help right now? Don't know who to talk to? Are you in trouble? Here is a listing of crisis hotlines in York Region.
  • Doctors
    The quickest way to find local doctors is to use the "Find a Doctor" website listed below. You can call each doctor's office to see if they are accepting new patients. You can also use the services of Health Care Connects.They will provide you with the name of a doctor in your community accepting new patients. You can also look through the Canadian Medical Encyclopedia and look under your geographical area and spoken language. The local yellow pages will also give you a list under "Physicians & Surgeons".
  • Hospitals
    This is a listing of the hospitals serving York Region and the Northern part of the GTA.
  • Walk-in Clinics
    If you have a medical emergency please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. If you have a health concern you can call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000 or visit one of the walk-in clinics listed below. These walk-in clinics are within Richmond Hill or in the surrounding communities. Please note that none of them are open 24 hours but many are open late in the evenings. For example, York Medical Walk-In Clinic Richmond Hill is open in the evenings from 9.00 p.m. to midnight.
  • Community Care Access Centres
    Your CCAC connects you with the care you need, at home and in your community. The service is available from 8.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. every day of the year and by phone at all other times. Here are the three Community Care Access Centres serving this region.
  • Emergency Dental Care
    Most dental offices have extended hours or walk-in facilities and will do their best to accomodate your dental emergency. However, dental emergencies can happen at inopportune times and your dental clinic may be closed or you have already gone through the yellow pages for local emergency dental care. You don't want to go to the local hospital but you need help - now!

  • Public Health
    Public health professionals offer confidential information and advice on public health-related topics, resources, services and other community programs.
  • Urgent Care Centres
    Urgent Care Centres are more than just Walk-In Clinics. These Centres are an alternative to a hospital emergency department for minor non-life threatening emergencies, along with other primary care services. Many of their doctors also work in hospital emergency rooms and are able to manage a wide range of medical and surgical emergencies. They are trained to provide additional care such as casting fractures and suturing lacerations, saving you time waiting in a hospital emergency waiting room. There are two UCCs in the Richmond Hill Area: Oak Ridges Medical/Urgent Care Centre and Woodbridge Urgent Care Clinic. For map information go to www.urgentcarecentre.ca/locations.
